We see white crosses by the road everyday as a memorial to a poor soul who has lost their life by the roadside. It's a lovely tribute and this one caught my eye on the view from my bicycle in Solvang, California where someone had placed this memorial for a deer friend. I spotted it while I was cycling on the Solvang Prelude 35-mile bike ride course.

tribute by a nature lover. Up the road, I also saw a white cross
labeled, "Mama Deer" -- so sad.
