Paradise Cove in Malibu, California

Signs of Fun at the Beach

By Marianne Schwab | Best Travel Deals Tips Blog

Welcome to Paradise Cove in beautiful Malibu, California where you can "sea" the view, bring the kids, have a seat, and enjoy Malibu! The sign says it all.

I confess that Paradise Cove was a priceless treasure of a beach that I left undiscovered for almost my first twenty years in California because I didn't want to pay $30 to park my car. That is until I learned I only had to pay $6 if I made a purchase at the Beach Cafe first and, of course, got my parking ticket "validated" - one of my favorite California traditions.

And who wouldn't want to buy a beer and some world famous fish tacos at this lovely sea side restaurant frequented by celebrities and where you can see dolphins swimming off shore?

I took the photo above with my mobile phone so I could do a quick Facebook update but it's one of the best shots I've ever taken of this sign (and I've taken quite a few.) The sea gull makes this shot and seems to be saying, "I'm ready for my close up Mr. DeMille."

Paradise Cove is one of my top five places most tourists don't know to visit in Los Angeles. I've taken my niece and nephew to Paradise Cove in Malibu, California several times when they've been out to visit me in the summer. I love this fun in the sun shot that reminds me of some of our earliest memories at a beach, but on a different coast. The beach is always a "crowd pleaser" for kids and a great place for family fun in the sand.

If the shot of the beach above looks familiar, there's a good reason. You've probably seen it on TV or in a movie since Paradise Cove is frequently used as a filming location. I was watching an episode of The Mentalist from last season and saw that they were filming at The Beach Cafe just a few feet away from this shot.

Another great sign at Paradise Cove is the recent addition of this colorful painted surfboard display. Nothing says, "Malibu," more than a surfboard since it's a great spot for some of the world's best surfing.

Don't feel like surfing? No worries. Just rent one of these beach beds for the day and enjoy some rest and relaxation in paradise.

And the best part about Paradise Cove in Malibu, California? There's no dress code and the sign above proves it. So next time you're in California, don't miss out the treasure of this beach.
