La Creperie Cafe in Long Beach, CA

Heavenly Chocolate Crepes

After a fun day at the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show in Long Beach, a group of travel gal "tweet peeps" and I trolled the streets of downtown Long Beach, California, for a foodie experience. Someone suggested crepes and we ended up at La Creperie Cafe on Second Street. They had an awesome menu, great wine list, but the thrill of the evening was a heavenly chocolate crepe dessert topped with whipped cream and garnished with a slice of of banana and strawberry -- a preview of the delicious filling awaiting inside the crepe.

Devouring a chocolate crepe (how do you daintily eat one of those things) always transports me to the streets of Paris when the crepes are prepared Parisian style. Nothing like a foodie experience in California to relive fun travel memories from France.

La Creperie Cafe is located at 4911 East 2nd Street in Long Beach, CA. On a busy weekend summer evening, reservations are suggested at (562) 434-8499. Bon appetite.

Related: Long Beach, California, is the home port of Carnival Cruise Lines on the West Coast so make sure you explore the seaside city of Long Beach while you're there if taking a cruise out of the area. Also, right next to Carnival is the permanent docking residence for the famous Queen Mary. If nothing else, step on board for a tour or grab a cocktail at the historic bar.

Book Your Trip

Booking travel online should be quick and easy…not to mention affordable and that's why I like Expedia. Did you know that you can save up to $525 when you book your flight and hotel together at Expedia.com? For the best deals, book 60 days or more before you travel because usually the further out you plan, the better the package rate.
