Pacific Grove, California

The View From My Bicycle

By Marianne Schwab | Best Travel Deals Tips Blog

Pacific Grove, California is a gorgeous seaside community in Northern California squeezed between Monterey and Pebble Beach. I had been on a TV production assignment at the Pebble Beach Concourse D'Elegance and took an extra couple of days to actually enjoy the setting that I had been working in for the previous week.

I rented a bike and rode it along the four mile bike path from downtown Monterey down to the Point Pinos Lighthouse. I stopped along the way of this gorgeous stretch of the Pacific Ocean to take lots of photos from the view from my bicycle.

I love this perfect view from my bicycle of the wooden park bench overlooking the sea that makes me want to pack a picnic lunch, pull out a good book, and spend the day soaking up the Pacific Grove, California sunshine.

Cycling has become a new passion for me so I now love renting a bike (if I can't bring my own). I rediscovered bicycle riding last summer after spending a day on a rental bike cycling through Yosemite National Park with my nephew, Tyler, and niece, Alexis. After that trip, I purchased a hybrid Diamondback Insight bicycle and now have over 1600 miles on it in less than nine months.

Book Your Trip

Booking travel online should be quick and easy…not to mention affordable and that's why I like Expedia. Did you know that you can save up to $525 when you book your flight and hotel together at Expedia.com? For the best deals, book 60 days or more before you travel because usually the further out you plan, the better the package rate.
